Just connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes. Here you should see your iPhone listed in the source list. If you select that you should see a colorful bar chart at the bottom that shows how your iPhones capacity is being used. This shows details as to what kind of media has occupied what amount of space. You should be seeing a bar that has colors in blue, purple, yellow and white. Just below the bar you should see n index of what the different colors mean. This index is what we are interested in.
Once you have actually opened this, give it another tap, and then one more. See the difference? It shows your media in three difference ways:
1. Display in size (GB). This shows the actual number of Bytes that are occupied by each type of media
2. Display in number of items. This shows the number of items that are there in each category. This could be something like 20 photos, 120 songs, 8 items, and so on.
3. Display in amount of time. This shows the duration of audio or video play. This feature is available only for audio and video files of course.
Use this feature well to maintain space efficiently on your iPhone.
