iPhone – Basic iPhone Touch Training
Basic iPhone touch training
The identifying feature of iPhone is that it has an amazing touch screen. To use this
touch screen you go tap, flick and pinch. These are the basic methods you use to
handle your iPhone.
Tapping, on some levels, may be compared to a click on Mac or a double-click on
Windows. However tap works in its own way on an iPhone. You could use a tap to
open a folder you could use a tap to play a song or you could use it to send an email.
A tap basically allows you to select an item on the screen and launch some
functionality that is allocated to it.
Double tapping is two taps in a rapid succession. A tap is different from a double tap.
You generally use this for zooming or sometimes to turn features like caps lock
on/off.
Flicking is the process of quickly flicking your finger across the surface of the iPhone.
This action is generally used to scroll though a list of items like songs or photos. This
can also be used as a quick scroll method in emails and in web pages.
Pinching is the process of holding two fingers at different points on the surface and
bringing them closer or moving them away. Usually this is done with the index finger
and thumb, hence the name pinching. This is used for zooming in or out of photos,
maps or web pages.
Dragging is the process of pressing a finger on the surface and moving it in a
direction. This is generally used for panning the displayed content.
