Smart browser settings

Your safari browser on your iPhone has many things you can do. It provides
extensive options to control your privacy and security. Here are some features that
you may find are useful:

Clear cookies: Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored on your
computer by websites. They contain data that will be used by the sites for various
purposes. Usually this is stored so that the website remembers who you are when
you login for the second time. You could clear out these cookies if you want to at any
time. You can tap Clear cookies at the bottom of the screen and then tap Clear
cookies again to clear the cookies. You could also prevent all cookies from being
stored by tapping Accept cookies and then Never. This may not be a very good
thing to do as some websites will not work if you disable cookies. A good thing to do
then is to accept cookies only form some sites. You can mention these sites using
From visited.

Clear cache: Some websites store information in your iPhone cache so that they load
faster the next time they are opened. You can clear out this information by tapping
Clear cache and then tapping Clear cache again.

Turn javascript on/off: Javascripts are small pieces of code that are sent to your
system by the websites. These are used mainly to do small computations and
increase your user experience. You may turn this off form your safari settings. But if
you do so, you will lose some of the rich experience in some sites. So be careful
where you want to use disable javascripts.

Turn plug-in on/off: These are options for some video/audio plug-ins. There are
numerous plug-ins and many methods to turn them on/off.

Block pop-ups: Use this to avoid some of those annoying ads. But if you turn this on,
some websites that use pop-ups for useful purposes wont work as you have blocked
it.
