The Status Bar of the iPhone

The status of the iPhone consists of many icons which tell you about the current state of the phone. The different icons are as follows

>Cell Signal: This gives info about how strong is the signal from AT&T cellular network. There are five bars on the screen and if all of them are lit, then you are near otherwise you are far off from the network. If no bar is lit then it means you are out of reach and cannot make or receive calls.

>Airplane mode: When you are travelling by plane, you can use the iPhone only as IPOD. All the wireless features must be turned off. This feature makes your iPhone to be used as an iPod only by disabling all other features.

>Wi-Fi: This icon indicates that your phone is connected to the internet through Wi-FI network. The semicircular graphic indicates the intensity of the signal. If you see only very little or no bars lit, then the signal strength is very low.

>Edge: This icon shows whether AT&T network is available for the internet connection. If you do not see an icon then AT& T network is unavailable.

>lock: Gives info about phone being locked or unlocked.

>Play: Tells you about the multimedia file which is playing.

>Alarm: This icon is displayed if you have set up an alarm.

>Bluetooth: It represents the blue tooth connection. If your iPhone is connected to any device, then Bluetooth icon turns blue otherwise it is grey. If Bluetooth is turned off then you do not see any icon.

>Battery: Shows the level of battery’s charge. All the bars are lit then it is completely charged.
