Tips and tricks with links and numbers

iPhone has been designed to provide the best usability features for the user. iPhone its used by its users to do many things like browsing, playing , gaming, and of course to make calls. To make life easier iPhone has a capability to identify phone numbers and URLs in any text. When it sees a combination of number or characters which it thinks is a number or a URL, it will decorate the text with a blue link. All you need to do is click and iPhone will take you the right application that does a phone call or opens up a website.

Apart from this feature of iPhone, Safaris features in handling numbers makes this entire feature a lot interesting to use. Open a webpage in safari that contains a phone number.
Tap on the phone number, it gives you options to call the number or cancel the call. If you select to call, the iPhone calls that number and if you select to cancel the call you come back to the page you were browsing in safari.

With links in safari, there is a slick trick. You can just press and hold the link for a few seconds and a small bubble with the actual URL opens up. This serves multiple purposes. You can recognize bogus links without actually having to open the link in a new safari window. If you want to go to the link you just tap on the link again. This trick can be used even in your mails and texts.
